Groundwater Protection | Project Experience
Client/Site:PSE&G / Salem & Hope Creek Nuclear Generating Stations Project:Groundwater Protection Program & Assessment |
| Project Description: Bartlett Nuclear, Inc. (BNI) provided Environmental and Effluent Monitoring Program and Groundwater Protection Program Assessment support to Salem and Hope Creek Generating Station. The BNI team consisted of corporate radiological engineering management, Certified Health Physicist (CHP) and RETS/REMP Subject Matter Expert. Public Service Electric & Gas/Salem & Hope Creek Generating Stations Groundwater Protection Program & Assessment BNI project scope included: - Self assessments of the groundwater protection program, radiological effluent tech specs and radiological environmental monitoring program.
- Development of draft report and written self-assessment report identifying program improvements to comply with NRC regulations
BNI identified program weaknesses that would allow classification of any potential NRC findings as ‘licensee identified.’ | BNI then performed a review to ensure the station Final Safety Analysis Report (FSAR) adequately reflected current site conditions based on the latest characterization of geology and hydrology. BNI also performed a review of Site Conceptual Models and Site Investigation Reports to determine if updates to FSAR were required. These were performed in accordance with section 1.1.e of the NEI-07-07 guidance document, which requires that the FSAR be revised to include changes to the characterization of hydrology and/or geology. The review included a written report summarizing the results of BNI’s findings.
