Plant Support ServicesIn addition to the facilities maintenance services we provide, Bartlett Nuclear, Inc. (BNI) provides fire watch, foreign material exclusion (FME), lead shielding, tool room control and security escort services to nuclear and fossil power plants.

Fire Watch & FMEFor more than two decades has provided over 300 fire watch personnel at our utility client sites, during both operational and outage periods. These personnel have performed more than 250,000 fire watch hours since 2001. BNI has provided fire watch and FME support to nuclear sites within utilities including Duke Energy, Progress Energy, Entergy, Exelon, FPL Energy, Omaha Public Power District and Southern California Edison and to fossil sites within the Progress Energy system. | Lead Shielding BNI provides lead shielding personnel and equipment necessary to achieve record dose savings. Our approach is to work in conjunction with our customer to pre-plan the most efficient and ALARA-effective use of lead shielding in full compliance with site load bearing restrictions, schedule and budget goals.
Our Excel scaffolding serves as an ideal structural platform for temporary installation of lead shielding blanket or sheet. Our fabrication facilities can custom design, install and remove engineered systems for precise application of special shielding requirements. BNI has provided lead shielding services to the entire Duke Energy and Progress Energy nuclear fleets. Tool Room ControlAs an extension of our radiation protection, decontamination and janitorial contracts, BNI provides tool room support services to our customers. These services include tool and equipment control, inventory, issuance and decontamination. BNI has provided tool room control services to nuclear sites within utilities including Duke Energy, Entergy, Exelon and Progress Energy. Security EscortAs an extension of our radiation protection service offerings, BNI provides security escort services to commercial nuclear power and government energy facilities. BNI provides security escort services at San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station as a result of expansion in scope from our existing contract in support of plant D&D activities. We also provide these services in support of D&D activities at a number of Department of Energy sites including the Savannah River Site and LES. NM.
